The Bodhisattva Vow

I lift up my love
for your support. I trust you,
trust my foundation.
Underlying all,
heaven never disappears -
is never used up.
In love I enter
the primary flow of grace.
Some call this wisdom,
or say compassion
flowers near this spring -
that you will see standing here
how we must be yoked.
This act is the source
of heaven's power and truth
in my life and yours.

  1. I love this poem, but I was particularly struck by the picture that heads this post. I would claim to be familiar only with Christianity, yet that picture speaks much more to my soul. My thanks, Christopher.

    1. Yes, the picture is westernized to a great degree and crosses into western perception far better than many images from the center of the Mahayana traditions.

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
